I'm Tom Nguyen, an IT professional

Hi! I'm currently working as a print associate and cashier at Office Depot while pursuing a career in technology. I graduated from UT-Arlington with a degree in information systems and have a programming background, particularly in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Java, and C#. I've also built my own developer portfolio to showcase my projects.

My passion for technology began early, inspired by my brothers who introduced me to computers and video games. After immigrating to the US from Vietnam following the war, my family received generous support from people who remain close friends to this day. Growing up, my parents didn't have access to smartphones or computers, so I took the initiative to teach them how to use these devices.

Technologies I use

I use many currently popular technologies such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, GitHub/Git, and SQL to build my applications. I have familiarized myself with each of these technologies so that when I am working on a project, I am ready to apply what I have learned.

I use HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap to build responsive websites. Bootstrap is one of my favorite technologies to use because of its simplicity.

Javascript is the language of the web. I have built a few applications mainly in JS.

Git is my go-to version control. I post all of my projects on GitHub. Check out my source code.

SQL is the language of the database. I have used pgAdmin, the platform for PostgreSQL.
